”Between now and through September 2012, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be beefing up patrols. The CHP is focusing on drunk driving, but will also enforce speed limits, unsafe lane changing, seat belt, texting while driving and non-hands free cell phone use (and whatever else they can find wrong once they put pen to the ticket book).”
Really? People can hardly get to work now with all of the traffic and when they get 5 minutes to try and make up for lost time, they get pulled over? Hey CHP, nice job adding more obstacles on the freeway with pulled over cars!
I’m not anti-cop, BTW. I train with them. However, this is just stupid! I understand the looking out for the Friday night and Saturday night Christmas party set who are drunk at 2:00 am. But, the hard working people just trying to get to work, being late and trying to call their boss and bam! They get lit up! It’s a money making ploy and the middle class are going to get reemed in the process. Will they save some lives? Maybe, maybe they’ll be too busy writing up the guy who did a quick lane change to notice the drunk plowing into the car with the baby in it!
